The most important thing for me, when taking a photograph of someone, is to find some meaningful truth about who is sitting in front of me and to figure out how to best translate that into an image that is beautiful and artistic while keeping that real-life quality intact.

There are plenty of photographers that can produce photographs similar to what is found on social media feeds; a person or family standing in an orchard or an image of someone that looks more like an advertisement, coated in heavy post-processing or a background generated by artificial intelligence; this is not what I do.

I spend time getting to know the people I photograph so I can understand who they are and what is important to them. Just as every person that I photograph has a distinct personality and a story to tell, each session revolves around the uniqueness of that person.

I use natural and flash lighting techniques, composition, and the environment, to produce images that have depth and  meaning for the viewer and the person being photographed.

My photography is intended to be printed, framed, and hung on a wall in a house or building where people can see an image everyday that reminds them of someone or something important.
